Access

Although the MBC primarily serves the Harvard community, including the affiliated research hospitals, we welcome users from other parts of the Massachusetts academic research community as well as commercial users.

All users must comply with the policies of the Harvard Center for Comparative Medicine (HCCM). Training and information on animal research practices and regulations can be found on the HCCM website. All experimental procedures involving animals must be approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). Collaborators who would like to develop/implement new experimental procedures not listed on the MBC’s IACUC protocol can work with the director and their respective IACUC to create a new animal protocol or submit an amendment to the existing animal protocol.
